Two weeks that feel like a century

It’s already been two weeks since HB-SIA gracefully landed in Payerne airfield, triumphantly completing the world’s first solar-powered intercontinental flight.

After such an intense couple of months, it was difficult to get back into the swing of things and return to life’s daily routine, but with a few days off, some lazy mornings in bed and a nice regenerative hike in the Swiss Alps for the National holiday, the intensity and excitement of the Crossing Frontiers Mission flights almost seem like a desert trick, a mirage. Only after opening a package full of baseball caps and coffee mugs sent to us by our Moroccan partner and host, the Moroccan Agency for Solar Energy (Masen) did I get flashbacks of the emotions and experiences lived this summer…what a ride! And to think that I’ve only been working here for four months!

But as one of my colleagues said: “it’s good to know that although Sisi (an endearing name given to HB-SIA) will be sedentary for some time; this won’t be her last adventure”. 

It seems a new quest is only waiting to be revealed and it probably won’t take long knowing André and Bertrand…
